the garden

I’m loving this years RHS Chelsea flower show.  But then I think it gets better and better every year.

I have always really enjoyed gardening and having lived in 2 brand new houses have got to grips with garden design.

I only have small gardens to the front and rear of my house but that doesn’t mean they haven’t evolved over the years with changing landscapes and planting.  I used to pride myself on my manicured lawns, but ill health has seen the back lawn disappear altogether and the front lawn reduced in size with hard landscaping now taking over.

But I still have place and time for plants and flowers though they are now exclusively grown in pots and containers now that all the borders have been paved, stoned or decked over.

Garden ornaments help to provide some relief and a couple of gargoyles keep watch.

Anyway, I got out into the back garden earlier with my camera to record this spring’s blooms and they are lovely.

I still miss my grass though.
