and the winner is...

I wrote at the turn of the year about my new year’s resolutions.

I said I was going to develop a website.  I haven’t done it yet.  The others concerned entering photo competitions and to this end I have been much more successful.  When I say successful I don’t mean that I’ve won any; just that I’ve been entering them religiously.

So each month has seen me sending me entry off to Amateur Photographer magazine.  And each month I look in vain at their website and realise my picture isn’t among the winners or runners up.  But undeterred I shall continue.

my APOY entry for July: an extreme close up of a poppy.  It's bound to win...

I have entered the most prestigious competition for landscape photographers though and have high hopes for my image.  It’s one I took last Christmas Eve when I couldn’t even remember how to work my camera but I still think it’s the best photo I’ve taken in a while.

my LPOTY entry: Limesalde Bay.  It's bound to win...

I've also entered the BBC Countryfile calendar competition.

my Countryfile entry: a bee in flight.  It's bo...oh you get the drift

Who knows, if I keep going at this rate I might get a “highly commended” by the end of the century. I'm bound to aren't I?
