some not great news...
I started this blog back in October 2014, when I first went into hospital with myeloma. And then a couple of years later I started my YouTube channel.
Both were built around a number of core principles, one of which was honesty.
I knew that some people would find my social media outlets because they too were suffering with cancer or perhaps some other chronic illness. And so it was that I made the decision to always respect my "audience" and be 100% honest with you.
I shared my journey through diagnosis, surgery, treatment and into remission and beyond. And at every stage I told it like it was. Nothing was dressed up, although I did try to inject some of my darker humour into the whole "thing".

I have relapsed.
My myeloma is active after nearly eight years in "partial" remission.
What the future holds I don't know. When I was first diagnosed, I got very sick very quickly, and I don't know if that's what will happen again, or whether I'll suffer a much more gradual decline.
I also don't know what to do treatment wise going forward.
I can have more chemotherapy, intense at first and then reducing to one session a month - but for the rest of my life. And I don't know if I want to go down that route right now. I can have bone-strengthening medication and that's a no-brainer really. I don't want to suffer another spinal fracture.
Anyway, I'll endeavour to still write for this blog and make videos for as long as I can. And I'll see you all on the other side of this mess!
I'm so sorry to hear this, Nick. Sending you healing vibes from across the pond. :(
