extreme contrasts

Last Saturday (11th May) saw me take two photographs at the extreme ends of the photographic spectrum!

I got these images of a dead-nettle-leaf beetle in the afternoon…

Fujifilm X-H2, Laowa 65mm f2.8 ultra-macro
1/1250th of a second at f2.8, ISO 125
handheld

… and then just before midnight, with murmurings that the Northern Lights would be visible, unusual for this far south, I snapped this image:

iPhone 15 Pro Max
1/2 a second at f1.8, ISO 6400
handheld

A couple of videos for you today (because I forgot to post one last Thursday and I know you'd all be so incredibly disappointed; or something like that…)
