the first bug of the year

I've been struggling of late to do very much.  My myeloma induced fatigue and likely myeloma induced eye / vision issues, are hitting me quite hard right now.  Not great for a photographer who relies on a little energy and good eyesight then!

Anyway, just the other day I noticed my border terrier, Dexter, intently staring at something on our TV cabinet.  On closer inspection it was this:

A tiny sawfly.

I got my camera and snapped away for a few minutes before thinking "he's going nowhere, I'll get my tripod and do a proper focus bracket".  It seemed though that Dexter had other ideas and by the time I returned the fly was gone, replaced by a guilty looking best pal!

Never mind.  I got an image I'm reasonably happy with and it broke me from my malaise for a few minutes.  

I just wonder what it tasted like!
