pardon
I’ve been listening to some music
from my youth lately and this has brought back very fond memories of all the
bands I have seen live in concert.
It’s some list:
AC/DC
Alice Cooper
Billy Joel
Black Sabbath
Bruce Springsteen
The Cult
Dire Straits
Gillan
Iron Maiden
Journey
Judas Priest
Motorhead
Ozzy Osbourne
The Rolling Stones
Status Quo
U2
Status Quo
U2
Whitesnake
I’m sure there are more that for
various reasons I can no longer remember, but I’m often asked who was the best
live act I’ve seen. And in answer to
that question there can be only one band who surpassed all others in their live
performances, and that band was Queen.
I saw Queen in concert a total of
6 times but the first time sticks in my memory as the best live show I have
ever seen. Not only was it my first ever
experience of a live band, but it was without doubt the loudest and most rib cage
shaking ear splitting experience of my life.
I went with my sister and we were only about 10 yards from the stage. I’m not exaggerating when I say that it took
a week for my hearing to recover and the ringing in my ears to dissipate.
So as I grow ever older and my
senses continue to fade, I can look back and at least have happy memories surrounding my
impending deafness.
WHAT??? I can't hear you! (I went to a multitude of concerts in my youth too!)
ReplyDeleteSuch memories 😃 Now I'm so old, all I can manage is the Grand Old Opry in Nashville (and I actually fell asleep during one of the acts!!!).
