I want to build something

After I got ill, and now as I get older, I obsess about history and legacy.  What is important to me?  What will I leave behind?

I’ve a really close friend who is a very talented published author whose books I enjoy thoroughly.  They then will form part of his legacy.  Something tangible.  Something real you can pick up and hold.

Another friend is a gifted songwriter with a back catalogue of work that you can listen to.

And then there is a builder mate.

But what, I wonder, will be my legacy?  What will I be remembered for?  This blog?  Hardly.  My work?  I think I’m forgotten already.  My photographs?  Well, maybe.

There’s nothing much else.  So, I resolve to do something positive with the rest of my days so that when I’m gone people can say “Oh that’s what he did!”  I don’t know what that something is yet but I’ll come up with some plan.

Now.  Where’s my hammer?

  1. Your legacy is your beautiful daughter. You 'built' her! ;)
