dodging the showers

I'm lacking sufficient energy to go out to take photographs at the moment.  The mere thought of packing a camera bag let alone driving anywhere tires me out.

But the other day I just needed to take some pictures.  Trouble is it was raining outside.  In between the showers though I darted out and snapped a couple of images, and here are the best of them.

The raindrops really helped to give the shots an extra dimension, especially where they led to reflections in the drops themselves.

All were shot with my Nikon D700 in aperture priority at base ISO (200) and fitted with the 105mm f2.8G macro lens.  Not a tripod, self-timer, remote release or focus stack in sight!

Of course, there's a video accompanying this post, and you can watch it by clicking below:

  1. You can see the entire world in a single raindrop! (At least that's what I was told as a child!)
