merde il pleut

Autumn has arrived at last!

My favourite time of year for many reasons including, of course, my photography.  The light is nicer at more civilised times of the day and the landscape takes on a variety of colours and hues.

But.  And there's a big but.

It's raining.  It's been raining for days and the immediate forecast is for yet more rain for the foreseeable future.  Well, the next 10-14 days at least.

When I was able, I'd make my way to the waterfalls in this weather.  All the extra water rushing down from the mountains that feed the rivers make for some quite spectacular cascades and falls.  Oh for some mobility.

So, I can't get out and take pictures and it's so frustrating.  The summertime is like a dead period for photography (for me at any rate) and I so look forward to this time of year.  It's like getting a new camera or lens.  It's exciting.

When it isn't wet.

  1. I would think rainy weather would give your pictures a new kind of 'ambiance'. Just need to take a little extra care to protect your equipment. No?
