back in the saddle

It's officially autumn.

The clocks went back an hour over the weekend ushering in shorter days and more civilised times for sunset and sunrise.

So, it's time to dust off the cameras, charge their batteries and get back out doing what I enjoy the most: taking pictures.

We have though been experiencing a lot of rain.  So my first image reflects that in its erm, green-ness!  I went to the forest in Ystradfellte hoping to find fungi to photograph but no luck.  Instead I spotted this uprooted tree absolutely covered in moss which I thought looked interesting.

I particularly love the detail the camera has resolved in the mossy foreground.

Spookily, just under the upturned roots was a woman's shoe.  Not a walking boot or trainer but a posh dress shoe!  I didn't search any further but packed up and headed for home!
