internet forums

One of the most enjoyable elements of the internet is the ability to communicate with people all around the world - be they family, friends or complete strangers.  This can be via email, Facebook, other social media sites or an internet forum.

There are of course unsavoury forums where cruelty, sarcasm and the chance to anonymously practice these traits exist.

But for every one of these there are many more where friendship and help abound.  Forums where you can seek help with getting problems solved or discuss issues and interests with like minded individuals.  Individuals who start off as strangers but can end up as friends - albeit friends who you are unlikely to meet but friends nonetheless.

One such forum I belong to is where help is available for people seeking help with problems they  may have with their Apple Mac computers, phones and other devices.  I have found it a mine of information and have hopefully been able to help some other members with problems along the way.

But one of the most surprising things I found was when I decided to mention my illness on the forum.  Although I have been a member of the forum for over 7 years, I thought long and hard before I decided to go ahead and do it but have been overwhelmed with the response since I did, with many well wishers and people offering prayers.

I'm glad now that I did it and if it helps anyone else on the forum who ends up in the unfortunate position I find myself in then it will be more than worth it.

So to anyone with an Apple related problem can I recommend the friendliest forum on the internet: www.mac-forums.com.

  1. I haven't gone over to 'the dark side' (Apple) yet but it's nice to know if I ever do succumb there is a place to go for support!
