heart
Long before I was diagnosed with
my cancer, I had been suffering heart problems, principally atrial fibrillation
and some sort of fluttery valve which caused my heart to race at unimaginable
speeds and in no sort of rhythm.
Back in the summer of 2014 I saw
a heart consultant with a view to getting a procedure done to sort this problem
out. And then myeloma happened; which
meant my heart problems suddenly seemed insignificant. In any event the cocktail of medication I was
taking was keeping my AF and flutter at bay.
Until that is quite
recently. Well since last November in fact
I noticed that my heart rate wasn’t quite right and I was experiencing “strange”
turns which I recognised from previous episodes.
Now the major worry with AF is
stroke. And given my previous for blood
clotting coupled with the fact my AF is now permanent, my GP has referred me
back to my heart consultant.
All this means that I now feel
like crap. My heart is pounding, I have
headaches and the vision in my right eye has become blurry.
Still at least it’s taken my mind
away from my back pain.
Small mercies.
Geeze, Nick! What can I say? I hope you're feeling better soon and the Dr's get you all straightened out!
