there's nothing like getting new stuff

Ever since I switched from Nikon to Fujifilm I’ve wanted to get the Fujinon 16mm f1.4 lens.  All the reviews are positive, with some even proclaiming it the best lens you can buy for any camera.

But the timing was always wrong.  When I had a bit of money there were none available.  When they were, I needed to spend on something else.

Until last week that is.  So, I got one.  At last.

And I have to say it is rather stellar.  While this image doesn’t really showcase the lens’s truly awesome capabilities, it is the first image I shot with it and therefore I’m sharing it with you. It’s an almost identical composition to last week’s black and white image (sorry).  So far from ideal light for landscape photography but (I think) a good enough image to share.

I didn’t have my tripod and the lens doesn't have built in stabilisation, so I needed to shoot at a slightly higher ISO than normal to get the shutter speed fast enough for a sharp image.
