what lies beneath

I like taking “intriguing” images.

At first glance, this seems like a simple picture of a tree against a cloudy sky.

But look more closely and you’ll see it’s actually a reflection of a tree in a (quite) calm lake.  You’ll also see beneath the water’s surface, down to the tangle of branches on the lake bed some four or five feet below, which could easily be confused with a hillside in the fog - well that's what I see anyway!

Proof again that sometimes it’s the simplest things (and tools – I shot this with my iPhone) that make for the best images.

I'm going to take a short break from blogging - just a few weeks - to hopefully re-charge my batteries and get back on track.

At the time of writing (21 April) I'm struggling to face up to yet more heart surgery and the probability of spinal surgery at some time in the future, and there's just too much "stuff" going on in my life to be able to concentrate on this blog.  And the only thing I'd probably write about is how ill and depressed I'm feeling, and no-one wants or needs to read that.

For anyone who views my YouTube channel, I'm going to try to continue creating content for that for the foreseeable future (I've done much of the filming anyway) so you can catch up with me there if you like.

Thank you, and see you soon :-)
