I've been doing this all my life - it seems

Each and every Sunday evening, at around 6pm, I get my collection of hard drives from a drawer in my bedroom, take them into my little office and go through the process of cloning all the new media I've created that past week.

So, any new images, both raw and processed, along with video files and completed projects get meticulously cloned.  This is in addition to the daily "Time Machine" back-ups that my iMac performs automatically meaning I've got three copies of all my, erm, stuff.

oh the hours of joy staring at this...

And while doing this last Sunday I was reminded of one of the tasks I had as an office junior in the Council's Audit section in my first proper job.

We used to create financial reports (among other things) that used to go to the Finance sub-committee on various projects using a computer programme called "Supercalc".

We were at the bleeding edge of technology back then in 1985 as this was one of only a few personal computers owned by the authority.  My task was therefore a really important one and, given that everything was stored on a floppy disc, a laborious one to boot!

But I used to really enjoy those Friday mornings.  They were a sign that the weekend was nearly upon us and I could race my bike on the Saturday and Sunday, forgetting all about the rigours of office life!

Happy days :-)
