A photograph???  On a Thursday???  Again!!!

Back at the end of last month I had to go, yet again, for some blood tests at my local hospital. Naturally, after said tests we repaired to the calm and tranquility of Bracelet Bay at Mumbles.  I say naturally as this has become something of a post blood test routine now, and I find it really takes me away from the stresses of what's just happened and the results yet to come.

Anyway, this last time I was excited as the visit would coincide with a high tide, and there's nothing I like more than photographing waves crashing over rocks to really concentrate that calming feeling.

On arrival though I was greeted with a bare, rocky beach and no high tide.  Checking my app again, I realised I'd misread things, and high tide was at 6:30am, not 9:30 as I'd thought.

Oh f….. lipping heck I thought to myself!

Undeterred I made my way to where there were some gently lapping waves criss-crossing the rocks and set up.  But by the time I had, the tide had raced out even further so I had to pick everything up, re-position, focus, polarise, etc all over again.

Four times this happened!

Anyone watching from the back of the beach must have been having a good old laugh at my expense, watching me put my tripod down and frame my shot only to then have to immediately pick it up and find another composition further out to sea.  I honestly thought that at this rate I'd be photographing the North Devon coast opposite where I'd started.

I eventually managed to get ahead of the tide and get this image.  My patience was rewarded by finding this piece of driftwood lodged into the rocks.

Do you want to know exactly what three heavy metal albums from around 1980 I consider the most important?  Of course you don't, but I'm going to tell you anyway through the medium of expressive dance*

* not really - there's another bloody video
