this is typical
I've lamented on here before about my lack of luck as a photographer so many times you're probably all fed up with hearing it.
But it's true, and here's a further example.
If you read last week's post (sorry it was a day late - our internet was broken) you'll know my daughter and I had ventured to our local woodland / rain forest! And we saw very little in the way of wildlife activity be that birds, insects or even an interesting wild flower.
By the way, a vlog of our little trip can be viewed right here:
When we were down there, we listed the birds we see regularly (well, we've seen them!) and they are a pretty nondescript, run of the mill and dare I say boring collection of dull birds. We rarely see anything of interest here, even birds that are commonplace elsewhere, and as for photographing them - well forget it.
Just as we emerged from the woods back onto our road though, I saw a flash of yellow scorch across the sky in front of my eyes and a goldfinch then landed on a nearby fence. A goldfinch! Here!! The first one I've seen locally in years.
And my camera? Switched off and out of battery!
And being out in the open, with cars and people around, the bird was hardly keeping still and all I managed to grab were these blurry phone shots:
