a sad soggy demise
While out in the garden last week looking at some water droplets caught in a spider's web (yes, I am that boring) I came across a sad scene.
Caught in an old, vacated spiders web I saw this dead sawfly with a water droplet clinging to its back. After lamenting the fact that it gave its life for nothing, I figured I'd at least get an image from the scene and so went inside and grabbed my camera and tripod.
Even though it's quite a small overall scene, to get the whole thing in focus required a seven-shot focus bracket, stacked later using Helicon Focus. So, thank you Mr (or Mrs) Sawfly - you didn't give your life for nothing; you gave it for art!
