best image of 2024

For the past few years, I've sat down in December and gone through the images I've shot over the year, picking a shortlist of twelve and then a top three.

And this year is no different.

It's always interesting to look back at how my photography has transitioned and, hopefully at least, improved over the years and the past twelve months.  I mean, I've seen it go from mainly landscape and seascape shots to more nature and macro based image making along with a steady improvement in the latter.  Well, to my eyes at least.

Anyway, this year's winner is…
