it's not a weed

I love dandelions.  It wasn't always so, and when I could look after it I had a beautifully manicured lawn at the front of my house and dandelions, or any weed for that matter, were the enemy.

Now though, I enjoy finding and photographing them.  As a subject they are always different with so many different combinations of their seed heads possible.  Even the flowers can look nice, especially when an insect lands on one!

Late last month I found one growing on my front lawn, and knowing there would be an overnight frost leaving condensation on some of our windows providing a beautiful background.  So, I placed the dandelion on front of a frosty window and shot eleven focus bracketed images, stacking them later in Helicon Focus.
