well it is spider season

And my garden is full of orb weavers, either born here or blown in on the wind, and lucky enough to have survived into adulthood.  I spotted this one just after it had caught a common wasp and was wrapping it up, caching it for later.

That the wasp is bigger than the spider and possessing of its own deadly sting is testament to the spider's bravery and perfect genetic design.
