I had to wait ages for this
My default position for 99% of this summer has been sat on the deck at the back of the garden watching as insects and arachnids go about their business. And this wasp mimicking hoverfly caught my eye as it scurried inside a campanula flower, no doubt gathering up as much pollen as it could.
Excellent I thought, I'll wait for it to come out and grab a picture.
Except that I think it must have got drunk on the pollen or nectar and fell asleep. As it took fifteen minutes, yes a full quarter of an hour, to emerge. The only surprise is that by then I hadn't joined it in a slumber!
I hope the wait was worth it?
