new dog old tricks...
...or something like that.
For many years now I've been a user of Adobe's Photoshop and Lightroom photo editing software. It's heavily criticised for being a subscription model (an expensive one at that) and while I'm not going to defend their marketing or pricing policies, all I'll say is that by paying an annual subscription I'm getting state of the art and always bang up to date software for the equivalent of £10 per month.
I've tried the alternatives and just keep coming back to Adobe as it's so easy to use. No steep learning curve, no transferring images to a new program, etc.; it's just all very simple.
And whenever I do finally decide that enough is enough they go and release some killer upgrade making photo editing more spectacular with little input from the end user.
From time to time then, I like to re-visit older images and apply new techniques or improved learning to re-edit them. And today's image, a shot of Carreg Cennen Castle in Carmarthenshire shot just before the first "lockdown" in 2020 is a perfect example of improving an old image with new software modules.
