going over

When it happens, it happens quickly!

That first frost sees the garden transform almost overnight from its Autumnal but still colourful state into a drab, wintery scene of dying foliage and dead flower heads.

We had our first night frost towards the end of November, and it put paid to most of the plants and flowers in our garden, apart that is from the osteospermum which is in the rudest health it has been all year.  It is bursting with flowers and new buds and will likely flower well into December, unless a really heavy frost does get it before then.
