hanging on for now

Last week I told you how the garden was "going over" after the first frost of the winter started to kill things off.

Along with the osteospermum, my ferns are still holding on to life for now at least but are starting to show signs of transforming into their winter brown before dying back altogether.  I thought that in this state they look quite attractive and so decided that a photograph was in order.

Nikon D700, Micro Nikkor 105mm f2.8G
1/15th of a second at f3.2, ISO 200
tripod, self-timer release
5 image focus bracket stacked in Helicon Focus

I even broke out the Nikon D700 for this exercise and was shocked to find I'd not used it since July!  Of course, I paired it with the GOAT - my favourite ever lens of all time!
