is it time to stop?

I have a serious problem.

No, not that!  But collecting things.  It's something I've always done, all my life.  Among my most collected items are my records and CDs, cameras and lenses (obviously), Lego models, certain books, etc., etc.

And one of my major collections is fountain pens.  At last count I have around forty.  Included in that number is my latest acquisition - my "grail" pen - a Pineider La Grande Bellezza Arco Oak model.  It is stunningly beautiful.

my new Pineider Arco - so nice it's in a case within a case!

I've always said that when I got that pen (well, any with the Arco finish) I'd stop.  But the problem is there are a few slots remaining in my pen case and, well, that's the problem.
You see I don't think I'll be 100% happy until the case is full which will mean a grand total of forty-two fountain pens.
So, it would seem my problem will persist into 2026.

Still, there are much, much worse things I could be wasting my money on.  And two of my pens (including my Arco Pineider) are from very limited edition runs so would likely be of some value after I've shuffled off this mortal coil.

Oh yes, I just remembered.  I have twenty-six different inks, so it would only seem right and wise to amass a further sixteen or so meaning a different one for every pen.

Come on!

I mean that makes absolute sense... doesn't it?

  1. There's really only one thing to consider, do you find amassing fountain pens fun?
Fun is the most important thing there is.
