I just find it boring, that's all

The standard lens.  Nifty fifty.  Plastic fantastic.

All names relating the humble 50mm focal length providing lens.  And it's the lens that down the years has been used to shoot more images than any other.  Well, until the arrival of phone cameras that is.

Most of the famous historical shots you might be familiar with were shot at 50mm.  And for good reason.  It most accurately depicts what we see with our own eyes.  Not necessarily in terms of field of view, but certainly where perspective is concerned, and everything loos just right.

Shot with a 50mm (well, equivalent) lens

And perhaps that's why I find it so very boring!

Anyway, in this week's scintillatingly unmissable video I have a look at the focal length in more detail, and along with the help of some friends and a trip outdoors examine just why it is that unexciting.
