bloody starlings

We have several bird feeders in our garden which we fill regularly with the sort of stuff they need depending on the time of year, etc.  And they're mainly frequented by some really quite exotic species such as sparrows and blue tits!

We did once have a woodpecker visit but that's about as radical as it gets.

Apart that is for when the starlings arrive.  They bully the other birds away and make a hell of a racket.  Their arrival is always greeted by at least one of us uttering the phrase "BLOODY STARLINGS"!!

Sometimes though, when the light hits them in a particular way, they can look quite attractive.  The noise though...
