time

Tomorrow morning at 2am (I think) the time here in the UK will skip forward an hour.

I know this because the night staff here in hospital have more than the usual spring in their step.  An hour less in work with no drop in pay doesn't sound like a bad deal.

I've just phoned home to remind Lisa to change the clocks in our house.  There are many.  I know this because for as long as I can remember it's been my job to change the clocks when they spring forward or fall back.

Therer are 3 in the kitchen alone, then there's the lounge, bedrooms, personal watches.  The list goes on.  We have one clock in our bedroom that adjusts itself.  Why can't they all do that?

It's at around this time and again in late October that I find myself asking why do we bother with the whole thing?  I mean, what is the point?  Granted it'll get dark a bit earlier in Scotland but there'll be an hours extra daylight at the start of the day to compensate.

Besides, I like the dark evenings and dont mind going into work in the dark and coming home under the same conditions.  Perhaps I'm alone, or certainly in a minority, in holding this view.  Who knows?

So darker afternoons or evenings versus having to dash around changing clocks.  And if like me you have OCD I have to have them all showing exactly the same time.

Perhaps it is just me that's strange.
