why so difficult?

Last week the auxiliary socket in my car that I use to charge various things on the move stopped working.  The cause?  A blown fuse.

Easy.

Or so you would think.

But to change the fuse entailed taking the glovebox apart, shaving my fingers down so they would fit around the blown fuse, taking all my strength to then pull said fuse out and contorting myself into odd shapes to put the new one in.  Why does it have to be like this?

Anyway, I then looked at the car’s manual to see how easy it would be to replace a bulb should the headlight fail.  After 45 minutes of reading, re-reading and reading again about how to remove the inner wheel arch, parts of the engine and no doubt most of my skin and bones I was left realising that Audi do not want you to replace consumable items yourself.  They want you to take it to them to charge you some exorbitant amount to change a simple part.

Honestly, repairing my shattered back was probably easier.

Maybe.
