end of an era

Well not really, but I’ve just participated in my last Tai Chi session with MacMillan.

I’ve been going for 6 months.  When I started I was being wheeled into the physio room and did most of the exercises sitting down.  24 sessions later and I am able to walk (OK with the aid of a stick and I’m hardly fast but…), and my balance has improved as has my co-ordination and movement.

At first I was incredibly sceptical about the benefits of Tai Chi but I’m now converted to the point that I’m going to continue to do it at least once a week at home.

My involvement with MacMillan hasn’t completely ended though, as next week I start a course of hydro-therapy at hospital.

If its benefits are anything like those I’ve seen by doing Tai Chi then who knows where I’ll be in a further 6 months time?

Apart from wetter.
