hair
I blame my father.
For my, erm, high forehead.
But no matter.
After my cancer treatment, specifically the stem cell transplant, all my
hair fell off. All of it. Everywhere.
It has of course now grown back and, a year on from the hair loss, I
have only had one light trim to control the curls that somehow grew from
nowhere on my head.
Prior to my illness I always kept my hair
really short. No comb-over for me! I’m glad now though that I have let my hair
grow because on Wednesday I will be shaving it all off again as part of
MacMillan’s “Brave the Shave” fund raising campaign. I’ve managed to raise something in the region
of £200 for this wonderful charity and given that I can’t do the usual charity
stuff like running, cycling or swimming, I’m really pleased that this campaign
has meant I can do something to help.
Without the help I’ve had from MacMillan I
doubt I’d be the person I am right now, so cutting all my hair off is the least
I can do to say “thank you” to the incredible team here in Swansea.
As they say: hair today, £200 for charity tomorrow!
Yay for you Nick! What a great way to help those in need!
