pink Cadillac
I’ve always
loved cars. Anyone who’s read this blog
before will already know that.
So, I jumped at
the chance to get in my new TT and drive about 30 minutes east of where I live
to a place called Cowbridge where a “Cars & Coffee” event was taking place.
The event was
held on the single, narrow, shop lined high street through the small, very
well-to-do town, with any cars that couldn’t fit on it displaced to the nearby car
parks. We got a place (and some admiring
looks at the TT) on the main strip.
I say “strip”
as there were a large number of American cars present. Now I love all cars but US ones have always
held a special place in my heart from my young days when their huge size and
zany styling really made the cars stand out.
Anyway, there
were loads of cars of all nationalities there.
Old cars; new cars; slow cars; fast cars; very fast cars; classic cars; custom
cars; supercars. Makes from humble Fords
through to exotic Ferraris and McLarens.
And a Gilbern Invader! The only
car wholly designed and built in Wales.
I’d always wanted to see one in the flesh.
And it was in
Wales too.
