it's 2317 really

And I don’t mean just after 11:15 at night.

I watched a very interesting video about time travel the other day and it started me thinking along those quantum lines that get me so irked from time to time.  What if, and hear me out, we have all been here before?  2017, 2018, 2019, etc. have all already happened.

Imagine that it’s 2317 and the World is about to face extinction at the hands of a megalomaniac.  Some very clever people (maybe even alien intelligence) have found a way to travel back in time to now, in order to wipe out earlier generations of said megalomaniac’s family ensuring that they and their ideologies can never exist. 

So, in effect, everyone alive right now is actually dead.  Or at least 200 years old which could happen I guess.  Our time travellers from 200 years in the future are here among us and ready to do their deed to save the future of mankind.  But in order to do so they have had to reverse time as a whole to facilitate travelling back themselves.  But in the act of travelling back, the ability to then fast forward back to 2317 is lost. 

So, everything we are living through we have actually lived through before.  Only we can’t remember it.  Or can we?  And do those fleeting, split second memories explain déjà vu.  A-ha!

I know what you’re thinking now.  That I am a genius and have uncovered some sort of dark secret.

No?  OK.  Is what you’re actually thinking is that I’m a complete buffoon and should go back to writing about cars and cameras?

Whatever.  But you’ll never know for certain……..
