full circle

I know, I know.  It must seem I’m obsessed with leaves.

In a way I am.  They chart the progress of the year, don’t they?  Starting with Spring when the first buds appear on the trees; through the Summer with everything in full bloom and then into the Autumn where they put on, I think anyway, their finest, most colourful display before tumbling to the ground.

I collected the leaves in this image around 3 weeks ago, and then kept them in a dry environment, so they’d start to curl and crisp up.  I then threw them onto the lounge floor and after a little fettling shot the image below.

Shooting indoors, at 60mm with a relatively small aperture and not wanting to increase the camera's ISO resulted in the ultra-long exposure of 13 seconds!

  1. Very creative! No simple stomping through the woods, taking pictures for you! ;)
