aren't I lovely?

I'm sure I've written on here before about my first ever live music experience - seeing Queen on the opening night of their Crazy Tour in Birmingham in November 1979.

It was 12 years later on that same date that Freddie Mercury would pass away, but I digress.

Queen weren't supposed to be my first live band though.  That accolade should have gone to Uriah Heep (well, technically Girslschool as they were the support act) in Swansea in February of 1981.  But a school friend who had the Queen tickets couldn't go and I bought them.

After my father had refused to drive me to Birmingham and with little in the way of options to get there, Corinne stepped in at the last minute and took me there.

I was so chuffed that I wrote to the Queen Fan Club to tell them of my experience at the concert and obviously how I managed to get there and they in turn wrote to my sister to pass on my thanks!

See, I'm not that horrible a brother after all!
