that's it, I'm done

As I was growing up, and new technologies arrived, I loved being in a job that took advantage of these latest improvements and with youth and a degree of intelligence on my side I learned and adapted to take full advantage of these new technologies.

But it wasn't the same for everyone.

I watched firstly in amazement and then in pity as the older members of the workforce, or my family, struggled to progress.  In fact, some people unable or maybe unwilling to get bang up to date were moved to different jobs or just gave up and retired.

And now, I understand how they must have felt.

I'm sure you've all heard of NFTs - non-fungible transfers which provide for the ownership of purely digital or virtual assets.  And the purchase of these "items" is facilitated by crypto-currencies.

don't worry - I have no idea what this means either

No matter how much I've read, or how many videos I've watched of people explaining this new technological and financial frontier I just cannot understand it.  Or is it a case of just not wanting to know about them?

I feel disconnected and disinterested.

I also feel a degree of fear.  I mean, if this is the way forward, I'm going to be left behind. Much like those poor people who couldn't or wouldn't cope when computers were first introduced into the workplace or life in general, I'm confused and disinterested in equal measure.

It's all a bit scary.

  1. The reason you can't understand cryptocurrency is because it's a Ponzi scheme! That's the reason they can't explain it! It's all smoke and mirrors! (Also.....get off my lawn! LOL)
