needs must

hello
I am, it must be said, guilty of changing my camera regularly.  It's never been on a whim, but always because I needed to, or a newer model gave me a visible increase in image quality or delivered a functionality that would make my photography easier or more enjoyable

The change has always been made because I've wanted to.

But this latest change (I'll come onto it in a moment) has been forced on me somewhat, as my health and diminishing strength have necessitated the new camera.

goodbye

For a while now I've been using Fujifilm X-T cameras.  I love their small form factor and retro controls, both of which make taking photo's fun. It's that small size though that have brought about the change.  I found I could no longer comfortably hand hold the camera, particularly when shooting with my currently most used lens - the large 100-400mm telephoto job that I use to take my bird and nature pictures.

So it's goodbye Fujifilm X-T5 and a big hello to its replacement, Fujifilm's X-H2.

Now, the camera has exactly the same sensor and image processor as my old one so there'll be no change at all in image quality, and that suits me just fine.

Well that's not quite true.  The larger grip should yield less camera shake, and the brighter and higher resolution viewfinder leading to fewer blurry images and more "keepers".

That's the hope anyway, and here's the very first photo taken with the new camera:

I shall miss my little X-T5 though, and the fun element that using that range of cameras. However, I'll welcome a more comfortable and far less physically stressful process.
