I turned the clock back

At the start of this month, we experienced a couple of really lovely sunsets, that reminded me of the days I'd go chasing landscapes or seascapes bathed in that perfect golden light.

Anyway, on the night after the second of those sunsets I decided I would head out and do something I hadn't dome in ages.  And that was take a landscape photograph.

I watched as the clouds started to build high up in the atmosphere, ideal to catch the sun as it dipped lower in the sky and surely illuminating those stratospheric ice crystals.  And then "it" happened.  It being the inevitable lowering of the dark curtain of doom!  A dark grey band of low cloud that would eventually block out the sun, meaning that the clouds above would not catch fire as hoped.

I took my image anyway, more in hope than expectation of getting anything reasonably decent, and I'm happy enough with my image to post it here.
