that came as a shock
You may or may not know of my love for writing instruments. Now, my first love is for fountain pens, but I don't mind the odd, nice biro and have a few in my collection.
Just last week though I figured I'd assemble my collection from their various pouches and boxes and was utterly shocked at the number I currently own - 36! Thirty-six pens!
And this after selling four or five earlier this year.
Anyway, I decided that I needed to gather my collection all together in one place, and went online to buy a pen case with sufficient spaces to store them all. I bought one with forty-eight elasticated spaces but this now poses its own issue - what to fill the remaining spaces with!
I jest of course. I only want to get one more pen. But it will be a "grail" pen; one of some value both in monetary and cosmetic terms. What I really want is a pen made from a delightful brown arco material. These though do not come cheap, with teh one I really desire coming in at over £1000.
£1000 for a pen - you must be mad I hear you cry. Well i might be, but it's something I enjoy and something that will probably be an investment. I, or whoever has it after my days, certainly shouldn't lose any money on it.
For now though I can look at my pen collection. And those empty spaces...
