one I'm especially proud of

A bonus post?  On a Saturday??

Afraid so.

Only just yesterday I managed to successfully transfer a photographic concept from my mind and onto my camera's sensor and eventually, because I liked it so much, into print on some nice cotton paper.

What is the subject of all this excitement I hear you cry?  Well, it's this:

Fujifilm X-H2, Laowa 65mm f2.8 ultra-macro
1/2500th of a second at f2.8, ISO 125
handheld

For the past couple of years our local council has taken to scattering wildflower seeds onto the roadside verges, making for some beautiful wild-meadow patches all across the city.  When I saw one local to me, I had an idea of shooting a dreamy, backlit, soft focus style image.

And for once, I actually, really succeeded!

I shot the orange bloom through several layers of foliage at my lens's largest aperture to throw both back and foreground out of focus, while focusing on the orange flower and ensuring the sun illuminated the gorgeous orange petals.

And who says photography ain't art?!?!?
