a well-earned rest
I took advantage of some recently forecast rain to spread some fertiliser onto my front lawn. After I'd finished, I sat back down on a bench we have out there and watched this oxymoronically named tiny greater bee fly as it went about its business collecting pollen from a campanula next to me.
After around ten minutes it flew over to some gravel, landed and took a clearly well-earned rest after its no doubt exhausting work. It was so tired it let me get really close and to capture this really lovely portrait.

The latest update from our monthly nature stroll can be viewed below. I had a real struggle to make even half the walk this time and so sadly the image return is quite meagre and, if I'm honest, not of the highest quality. I'm not selling this am I?
