nosferatu
The subject of this Monday's image (yes, I know it's another bleedin' dandelion - my lawn is full of them right now) is not important. No, it's the concept behind it together with the inspiration for that concept that I want to concentrate on here.
I recently watched the Robert Eggers remake of Nosferatu. It blew me away. Not so much the well-known story, but the way the film looked; its cinematography. It is absolutely beautiful to look at.
And I wanted to see if I could get an image to look similar to the look of the movie, in particular the nighttime moonlit shots. So, naturally I shot this image on my front lawn in the middle of the day!
Getting the image was simple, but the devil was in the post-processing where all the heavy lifting was done to take a bright image of a weed and transform it into something more akin to a subject lit by a full moon. I think I succeeded, you may disagree? Let me know by leaving a comment that I won't be able to respond to!
