low hanging fruit

In the macro photography world, there are subjects and then there are, well, better subjects.

One of the less bettererest, least betterer... one of the recognised easiest subjects to shoot is the humble pollinator, or a bee.  They're just so abundant and stay still for long enough to get a decent shot.

But that's not to say that when you do get a really good shot that it's not a really good shot. Obviously!  And today's shot is one I am particularly proud of.  I really love the colours in the scene, from the pale whites and soft green hues of the flower and pastel blue, cloudless sky through to the vibrant (and pin-sharp) insect gorging itself on pollen.

And when I finally got the shot up on my computer, I was extremely happy with it, even if the majority of macro photographers will look at it and go "meh, it's only a bee"!
