Some of my close-up or macro shots are just that - they're close up shots of (usually) insects with as much detail as possible extracted. I don't think I am particularly great at this style, and there are far, far better genuine macro photographers out there should you want to really see how it's done.
For instance, check out Jamie Spensley or Naturefold on YouTube. Both really young and truly gifted macro photographers.
Anyway, I digress. I much prefer a more store-telling approach to my nature photography, and I feel this is demonstrated in today's image of a tiny fly on a daisy. Look closely and you'll see the details in the globules of rainwater that had gathered on the flower in the form of several flower heads and even one of the fly itself!
