what an apt name
Bug photography at this time of year is tough. The weather is cold so there aren't that many about unless we get the odd warm day.
At time of writing (15 March 2026) we are apparently in for a few days of warm, sunny weather. So, I shall be outdoors in our (newly remodelled!) garden with my camera hoping to catch some late winter / early spring bug activity.
In the meantime (or should I say during the meanwhilst) I spotted this little gnat on the window in our lounge. After snapping a picture I had a quick look online to see what exotic name scientists had arrived at for the tiny thing.
A window gnat is what they called it. Earned their money that day, eh?!?!
