isolated
Earlier this year I made a trip to some woods to photograph the bluebells that were out.
I also got two close-up images that I really like: a dandelion and some wild garlic. I shot both with my 60mm lens and “spot metered” on the brightest part of the image which helped really darken the background (it meant the camera shot at a much higher shutter speed than if I’d used average or evaluative metering of the whole scene, so it picked out the bright parts only). And, coupled with a wide-open aperture and consequent shallow depth of field, isolated the subjects beautifully.

Oh, by the way, this is my 300th "blogger" post!! 300!!!
WOW! Knowing that you do it 'manually' and not post production makes it sooo much more impressive! AMAZING! :D
