in the nick of time

With a stunning sunset forecast, I headed up into the foothills of the Brecon Beacons to an ancient standing stone known as Maen Llia, to capture it against the fiery sky the sunset would provide.

I got to my location and as soon as I unpacked my camera, the very second in fact, storm clouds rolled in from the north and it started to rain.  Hard.

But before I rushed to pack my gear away, I rattled off a very quickly composed and exposed image.  I shot this at f4, an aperture I wouldn’t normally use for landscapes, but needs must, and I was in a hurry.

I’m quite happy with the resulting image though, and although not exactly what I was after it’s still worthy of inclusion in this blog.
