an unexpected photo

Just last month I started a new photography class.

I almost didn't take my camera with me as in the past the first lesson has always just been induction and introductions with plenty of paperwork and no actual photography.

But I took it anyway and was glad I did when the tutor announced that before doing anything else we were just going to pop outside onto the promenade to take some pictures of the crashing waves.  Now, I spent the latter years of my working life in the building where my class is, so it's strange going back there but also reassuringly familiar.

So, once outside, I knew just where to go to get the best image.

Remember, this image was taken without my usual accompaniments such as a tripod or filters, but I'm quite happy with it considering the complete lack of preparation.
