gloriously green

I'm lucky enough to own the Fujifilm 16mm f1.4 lens.  It's an absolute masterpiece of a lens, producing beautiful, crisp images.

But perhaps its greatest attribute is its ability to focus close in on a subject.  I mean really close.  Front of the lens almost touching it close!

While it's by no means a macro lens (it's nowhere near a 1:1 magnification ratio), its focus ability means you can get some stunning close up images.  Of course, you have to crop in quite drastically in processing, but you're still left with a 2-3 megapixel image which is more than enough for t'internet.

In the middle of August we had some scorching hot weather resulting in all manner of insects visiting our garden.

I spotted this beautiful green fly on an orange daisy.
